As Alpha Sigma Taus, we believe in being leaders in our campus community and getting involved beyond fraternity/sorority life. Our Sisters are involved in a variety of campus clubs and organizations.
In addition to on-campus involvement, you can also find our Sisters working part-time jobs, participating in internships, completing rotations, student teaching and more. We're thankful to have the support of our Sisters as we continue Defining Excellence.
Along with our national philanthropy, the Women's Wellness Initiative, we work locally to raise money for Dress for Success, a nonprofit organization that provides professional attire and development tools to women in need. To read more about Dress for Success, click here!
On-campus, we do a few things that are unrelated to our local or national philanthropy. For example, we work alongside other Lycoming FSL organizations in our food recovery effort, where we transport food being donated by the Wertz Dining Hall to the American Rescue Workers location off-campus.
Moreover, we have had sisters work with a variety of one-time philanthropic opportunities such as reaching out to local businesses for Hayden's Heart INC., helping to prepare for and participating in the AFSP Suicide Prevention walk, and working with the American Cancer Society's Relay for Life.
At Lycoming College, we have a Panhellenic Council, where all sororities, local and national, have equal representation. In doing so, Alpha Sigma Tau will always have two Panhellenic Executives, which work together to plan and regulate sorority life, and two delegates, who help to ensure that all Panhellenic guidelines are being followed, all event information is correct and current, and have the opportunity to reach out to other sororities at Lycoming to create unifying experiences between different organizations.
